I've seen similar at far pasture a few years back I'm sure made by the Bird Cherry Ermine Moth (got some photos somewhere), the caterpillars weave a web for protection while they eat the leaves inside it. And there's thousands of the little buggers. Just need to find out which caterpillar now?
