In milkwellburn woods now and came across this tree covered in webs, first time ive come across anything like this. Does anyone know what spider created this? I'll check myself when i get home.

  2. Funny enough thats what rob suggested aswell, when i think about it ive seen this on tv and it was caterpillars that wrapped eggs in a leaf then made this web around the leaf, so thats what it must be. Just need to find out which caterpillar now? Lol im sure burt will have an idea? :)

  3. Yeah, I only asked cos I didn't know if you'd seen any actual spiders or not. I've seen similar at far pasture a few years back I'm sure made by the Bird Cherry Ermine Moth (got some photos somewhere), the caterpillars weave a web for protection while they eat the leaves inside it. And there's thousands of the little buggers.
